The Toddy Times

TT2025 Home Archive

An early dry spring, a long, hot dry summer, it’s been a tricky year and yet we’ve never had such bountiful fruit. Our freezer is overflowing!

Though we didn’t have a hosepipe ban in this part of Sussex, we were grateful to have saved load of rain in our water butts which kept us going for ages until we had to resort to using the mains. (And we reused a lot of duck drinking and swimming water)

Ophelia is taking an interest in seed sowing and has had success with sunflowers and peas.

Some of our produce made it to the village flower show where it enjoyed quite a lot of success!

Gardener’s World 2025

Further afield we enjoyed visits to local ‘W’ treasures - Woolbeding, West Dean and Wisley - as well as gardens further afield like Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons with Kay (a lovely present from the Todd Squad) David Austin Roses and Waterperry.
